DESCRIPTION
This small vacation cabin on the Hood Canal waterfront was designed to be remodeled into a full time residence for an
active couple looking to retrie near the water. The main and upper level floors are designed to be converted to a two-bedroom,
2 1/2 bath home with a one-bedroom apartment on the basement level that can be rented for supplemental income.
Utilizing cantilevered beams to support the new structure, the occupants will have uninterrupted views of the water from
the main and upper levels with no posts outside the water view side wall.
Models were used extensively during the design of this project to help the clients visualize the full form as it would appear
after construction. A small model was created to confirm the shape of the design with the larger model being used to show
details and the locations of windows and doors.
